about

TerraTenebrae is a one person project started in late 2015, manned solely by Karasu. Originally a bassist found themselves drifting through multiple bands before they decided to start creating music under their own name project name. TerraTenebrae has a focus on Dark Ambient, and Atmospheric music, but takes influence greatly from Noise, Black Metal, Electronic and Experimental music.

For recording. Most are done slightly differently, there is a mixture of using field recording, live instruments, and software.
for field recording I have typically just used whatever sort of recording device I have had laying around, phone, tablet, camera. whatever I could find. I often find myself using my Epiphone 4 string Accu Bass for more melodic parts or even for creating just textures. I use a Yamaha PSS480 synth, and a plethora of effect pedals, most notably, a Zoom MS-60B, a circuit bent Behringer Ultra Octaver, and an EHX Nano Muff. My DAW of choice is MULab. For sound generation my main soft synth is the Eclipsis. I use Sunvox as well. There tends to be a slightly different process each time I create a track. Usually though my first step is to find a sound that I like, and then start building upon it.
